Body Dysmorphia Is Real—But So Is Freedom

December 18, 20251 min read

Unfiltered. Untamed. Unstoppable. Just Keepin’ It Real.

For 16 years, I had bulimia. I obsessed over food, calories, my body. I exercised to punish myself. I got liposuction. I did whatever it took to chase perfection.

I didn’t respect my body. I didn’t even know myself. I thought being thin meant I was lovable. I believed if I wasn’t “perfect,” I didn’t deserve love.

That’s how disordered eating works—it hijacks your mind. It consumes your energy. And it disconnects you from your truth.

I never thought I’d escape it. But then I started grooving.

For the first time, I felt something shift. Groove wasn’t about how I looked. It was about how I felt.

I moved in ways that felt good. I tapped into creativity I didn’t know I had. I stopped performing. I started listening.

Groove gave me back to me. Now I don’t move to earn love—I move because I am love.

And you can too.
